  35.     Abstract:
  36.       This coverage includes arc segments that describe meridians
  37.       and parallels at an interval of two degrees of longitude and
  38.       two degrees of latitude in the Far East (China, Japan, Mongolia,
  39.       North and South Korea, and Taiwan; and portions of Cambodia,
  40.       Laos, Thailand and Vietnam).
  41.     Purpose:
  42.       To provide a locational reference grid of latitude and longitude
  43.       to Open File Report 97-470F Maps Showing Geology, Geologic
  44.       Provinces, and Oil and Gas Fields of the Asia Pacific Region;
  45.       Plate 1: The Far East, which is being compiled as a reference
  46.       for the U.S. Geological Survey's World Energy Project
  47.       assessment of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and gas
  48.       resources of the world.  This coverage is used to produce a map
  49.       and an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document of the map to be 
  50.       published on CD-ROM. An Arcview shapefile derived from this
  51.       coverage is used in an Arcview project.
